Established in 1999, Lily Gardner London is an online and retail emporium featuring the designer’s iconic lace jewellery, delicate semi-precious jewellery, classic white shirts, luxury photo scarves, designer silk lingerie and leather clutch bags. Lily and her team also discover, collect and curate unusual accessories from around the world.
All Lily Gardner pieces are beautifully designed. All come with an interesting story: about their makers, about the craft or their provenance. Lily’s own designs have appeared in magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire, Tatler and Grazia. Her jewellery has also featured alongside Vivienne Westwood’s in the designers exhibition in the Victoria and Albert, in Harrods and Paris’ Colette boutique.
Lily Gardner London transitioned in 2019 to an exclusively online store to keep pace with demand from UK and overseas customers . Head office is now in Chiswick, London.
HOW IT GREW…
After growing up in New Zealand, working for the BBC in London, becoming Kermit the Frog’s PR, using a free studio at weekends to experiment with lace and Perspex, getting first orders for lace jewellery from Harrods and the V&A, selling to and selling out at Colette Paris, worrying about orders faxed to work, giving up (hurrah!) the ‘glamorous’ film job, opening a store in Chelsea, shopping for the shop, surviving the recession, and getting over-excited about design and colour and all the talent on our doorstep in London, stock it and own new designs…
After all of that, it really was time to go online properly.
