All website businesses need reviews. Not just so they feel good but as an endorsement or real-world feedback for people who need independent advice. We’ve just got our new semi-automatic (er we had some initial hiccups!) review system up and running and are happy to announce it has given us more than we bargained for. In a good way. To explain:
A lot of the people who order our lace jewellery, lace lined bags and lace detail scarves online are male. No surprise. Lace is what they need to buy if they are celebrating their 8th or 13th wedding anniversaries. It is the modern (8th) and traditional (13th) gift.
Many of our male customers ring us for advice and a bit of absolution... 85% want next day delivery. (DHL love us) They’re late and only just found us online. Top marks guys though... at least it shows an effort to find the perfect ‘thing‘.
It’s risky business: many don’t know us, they only just found us, they have minutes to spare. Unsurprisingly, when their order arrives on time and their wife loves it, the relief is unbounded.
Consequently, we get lots of stars and generous long reviews. Which we appreciate. This month we even got stories of intrigue and misadventure surrounding the order’s journey plus comic personal stories (see below) and something very sweet. To eat! (There is a photo but we ate most of the evidence.)

“A wonderful little bracelet. As my wife has tiny wrists, I ordered the small size hoping it would fit perfectly. It did indeed as very difficult to find bracelets. As I live in Luxembourg I requested DHL in the comments and managed over the phone with Lily to arrange this. It was dispatched at 17:00 Tuesday and I received it the following morning! Very impressed.”
